Saints Team Awards: Chris Olave runs away with Comeback Player of 2025

· Yahoo Sports

Our 2025 New Orleans Saints team awards are drawing to a close with Comeback Player of the Year, and there wasn't much debate about who deserves it. Few Saints players overcame challenges like Chris Olave. The wide receiver lost his 2024 season to a series of concussions but returned to lead the team in yardage in 2025. Still, he wasn't a unanimous choice. Here's who we highlighted.

Chris Olave

After having his 2024 season shortened to just eight games because of concussions, Olave matched a career-high with 16 games played this season. He not only stayed healthy, but emerged as a consistent number one threat with 100 receptions for 1,163 yards despite the absence of other complementary weapons around him. Olave went from an inconsistent producer with major injury concerns to the featured weapon in New Orleans. -- Bob Rose

After an injury-plagued season that brought national attention and serious questions about his future, Olave responded in the best way possible. Coming back stronger and more productive than ever, no one embodied the spirit of this award more than a 24-year-old who once contemplated walking away from the game. -- Luke Loffredo

Olave is the only player I'm willing to double up on, and even if it weren't him, it would've been Chase Young, or potentially Cam Jordan, but that's just a production standpoint. Olave being able to come back from multiple concussions and injuries to be a highly successful No. 1 wideout with two different quarterbacks is impressive stuff. -- Jeremy Trottier

Chase Young

Injuries have marred Young from showing his full potential in the past, but that was not the case in 2025. Young hit some high notes, including a career-best 10 sacks as he was a steady problem for opposing quarterbacks when it came to bringing the pressure. -- Crissy Froyd
