New York Mets slugger Francisco Lindor fractured his hamate, as did Baltimore Orioles' Jackson Holliday and Arizona Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll.

The three have had surgery, and for Carroll, he is expected to be ready to go by or shortly after Opening Day, but his World Baseball Classic chances are canned.

Arizona fans will want Carroll back as soon as possible. They have built some hype after refusing to part ways with Ketel Marte and acquiring Nolan Arenado in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals

Carroll is the heartbeat of the club, and he is coming off a fantastic season. Across 143 regular-season games, the speedster hit .259/.343/.541 with a career-high 31 home runs, a career-high 84 runs batted in, and 32 stolen bases, becoming the first 30-30 member for the D-backs.

The crew over at MLB.com believes Carroll can carry his past success into the new season, projecting him to be Arizona's best player in 2026.

"Carroll had his best season in the Majors in 2025, posting 6.5 WAR and becoming the first 30-30 player in franchise history. At 25 years old, Carroll has already established himself as a true star in Arizona. Carroll recently underwent surgery on a broken hamate bone in his right hand, making him unavailable for the World Baseball Classic, but he could be back by Opening Day."

It may take a little bit for Carroll to knock the rust off, but he should pick up right where he left off. Arizona will need him if they have any shot of making the postseason later this year.
