New Notre Dame WR Mylan Graham said WHAT about Ohio State?

· Yahoo Sports

On Wednesday, Notre Dame began its “unveiling” of the incoming coaches, freshmen, and transfers by holding some combo press conferences inside the Irish Athletic Center.

Probably the most talked about comments came from Ohio State transfer WR Mylan Graham. When asked about the biggest difference is between Notre Dame and Ohio State, the former New Haven Bulldog unleashed a very quotable quote:

“Not too different, You just have to actually go in person… at Notre Dame obviously everybody knows how it is with academics.”

OH SNAP — right?

Of course this looks and sounds like shade toward Ohio State. And, of course, Notre Dame zealots along with Ohio State fanatics will look at it the same way — and they’re all idiots for having thought as much. For anyone that paid any attention to the entire press conference (which feels like an impossibility in this social media world we live in), this sounded very similar to what new defensive line coach, Charlie Partridge, said to the media just minutes before Graham got on the mic:

“You better care about school if you’re at Notre Dame. And guys that have been here know that, understand that. Not that other schools don’t. Online classes don’t really exist here, things like that that don’t exist. You have to go to class. You have to engage with your professor, which as you and I know, that’s a great thing. It’s a learning curve for maybe a guy or two, and having guys that have been through the quote-unquote system here is a huge advantage.”

Partridge was answering a question about how nice it is to have Jason Onye returning for his 6th year, but obviously there’s a theme here — just as there has been for decades. Notre Dame values a certain type of education and requires its student athletes to be on the same page. It IS different than 99% of the other FBS programs out there, and Graham saying that is the biggest difference isn’t some type of smack talk.

You can watch the entire press conference below. Besides Chris Partridge and Mylan Graham, new Irish transfers Spencer Porvath, Tionne Gray, Francis Brewu, Jayden Sanders, Keon Keeley, and Quincy Porter get on stage to answer a few questions.
