Ex-Argentina and Bayern Munich defender Martín Demichelis is the new coach of Mallorca.

The La Liga strugglers said on Thursday that the 45-year-old had been handed a deal until the end of the season with the option of a further year.
He replaces Jagoba Arrasate.
Demichelis began his coaching career with Bayern's under-19s and reserve side. He later coached River Plate to league success and Mexico's Monterrey.
