Bayern Munich remains at the top of the Bundesliga table holding an 11-point lead over Borussia Dortmund after defeating Die Schwarzgelben 2-3 in Der Klassiker this Saturday. Although the club has received criticism for some recent subpar performances, usually during one half of the games, the Bavarians have been able to achieve the ultimate goal and bring the 3 points home.

With this comfortable lead, one could think that coach Vincent Kompany would like to ease off and focus the squad’s efforts in the other competitions like the UEFA Champions League. However, the Belgian assured that this is not in his agenda.

“We now have an eleven-point lead. We’ve scored 88 goals. Why stop now? We’re going full throttle,” declared Kompany in a post-game interview, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. This shows the same mentality Kompany is known for since taking charge of Bayern Munich: aggresive, relentless, and always going forward.

This approach might have to be fine tuned, though, since excessive game time has already taken its toll on players like captain Manuel Neuer, with other stars like Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies and Joshua Kimmich having had setbacks during injury recovery periods.
