Will KC Concepcion be available for the New England Patriots with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft?

Concepcion has been forecasted to be a late first-round pick in the most recent NFL mock draft projections. The 26-year-old received the 2025 Paul Hornung Award, given annually to the most versatile player in major college football.

With the release of former first-team All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs, the Patriots are now without their lone 1,000-yard receiver from 2025. Diggs recorded 1,013 receiving yards for New England last season. The Patriots have since signed former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs to a four-year deal.

But even with Doubs on the roster, the team could still use help at receiver.

Concepcion offers much on the outside. His speed, as well as his elusiveness, enabled him to go for 15.1 yards per reception in 2025. The 6-foot pass-catcher also led the SEC in receiving touchdowns with nine. He was lauded for his great hands at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in the gauntlet drill.

The Patriots do lack tall wide receivers, as Mack Hollins was their only featured receiver over 6-foot on the outside last season. However, Concepcion went for 919 yards in 2025 as a junior, while also earning consensus first-team All-American honors as an all-purpose player with 1,450 all-purpose yards.

The insertion of an elite wide receiver in Diggs into the Patriots’ lineup last season catalyzed their turnaround as a receiving unit last year, as well as their run to the Super Bowl. Concepcion has the potential to be on the board for the Patriots to select at the end of the first round.
