Considering he passed Kobe Bryant to clinch the second spot, there were some intense reactions to Adebayo's game and Spoelstra's decision to keep him in the game to chase the career high. People like Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr were intrigued by the reaction.

Kerr defends Spoelstra's decision to help Adebayo get 83 points

Kerr and Spoelstra are the longest-tenured coaches with their teams in the NBA. They have plenty of experience in the league, including letting their players chase history. Spo had his moment with giving his player a moment he will always remember.

However, Kerr also had that with Klay Thompson in the past when he helped him chase the record for most three-pointers made in NBA history. Considering he had amazing players during his coaching career, with Thompson and Stephen Curry, Kerr had plenty of the same opportunities as Spo.

Kerr has been observing the backlash to Spoelstra and Adebayo. He has been baffled by the reaction because he did not get the same backlash for keeping his players before. Now, Kerr has made sure to defend his peer and the player who set the record.

"Is that a thing that people are not giving him credit for getting 83?... I think every coach has to face those circumstances. I respect what Spo said. No need to apologize, he was doing it for his own team, and I respect that," Kerr said ahead of the Warriors' game on Friday.

Kerr is doing a good thing by defending his fellow coach because it only strengthens the players' confidence. Considering both Curry and Thompson have amazing records throughout their careers, they owe that to Kerr giving them a shot at getting them, which is what Spo did for Adebayo.
