Breaking: Bayern Munich’s Jonas Urbig leaves Germany camp with knee issue
· Yahoo Sports
According to a report from Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau, Bayern Munich goalkeeper Jonas Urbig has exited German national team camp with a knee injury:
🚨 Jonas Urbig injured! The Bayern goalkeeper has suffered a capsule injury in his right knee joint and will miss the international matches on Friday against Switzerland and on Monday in Stuttgart against Ghana. Julian Nagelsmann has called up Finn Dahmen from FC Augsburg as a replacement.

Later, Hau would add more context with another post and said the dismissal was just a “precautionary measure”:
Update: Julian Nagelsmann speaks of a “precautionary measure” for Jonas Urbig. A “small capsule” is affected, “nothing serious, he could have continued training here with us as well – but I didn’t want to rush him. That doesn’t help him, that doesn’t help us, that doesn’t help Bayern,” said the national team coach.
Bayern Munich also issued a brief release via its website:
The German FA have confirmed that Jonas Urbig has sustained a capsular injury in his right knee. The 22-year-old Bayern goalkeeper has therefore withdrawn from Germany’s squad for their friendlies against Switzerland and Ghana.
This is certainly not good news, but it could have been worse. Hopefully, Urbig can get healthy quickly and Manuel Neuer can return to full health soon enough as well. Third-string goalkeeper Sven Ulreich is also out for at least another month with an injury, too.
