The Charlotte Hornets continue to be an impressive team this season, with another win on Thursday. They beat the Phoenix Suns with a solid 127-107 blowout. It was a well-rounded result for the Hornets, but Kon Knueppel was once again in the headlines.
He made four three-pointers against the Suns, which propelled him to a new franchise record. Knueppel is now the franchise leader for the most three-pointers made in Hornets history, passing the iconic Kemba Walker.
Lee showers Knueppel with praise for setting a new Hornets record
As the 2025-26 regular season nears its conclusion, the Hornets have proven to be one of the most exciting NBA teams. That is normal for a team with LaMelo Ball leading the charge, but Knueppel is another reason to get excited about.
He is a superb basketball player, but his biggest strength being his three-point shooting, could propel him further. Knueppel is only in his rookie year, and he is already proving to be arguably the best shooter in the league.

After setting the franchise record, Knueppel became the headline. Head coach Charles Lee made sure to praise him, as he also gave him a celebratory water shower as the rookie headed into the post-game press conference.
"I'm extremely happy for him. Well-deserved honor. The team didn't like that I said 'Kemba who?' after... Love Kemba, love the standard and the bar he set. It was really cool, obviously, to see Kon throughout the year, continuing to just get better and better," Lee said after beating the Suns on Thursday.
Moving forward, the Hornets have a solid foundation for success. Knueppel is a fantastic shooter to keep building around, while the rest of the team can play exciting basketball to help them compete for a championship soon.
