CM Punk Disembowels Roman Reigns In Fiery Pipebomb
- CM Punk was actually in hostile territory as Houston chanted for Roman Reigns while he sat patiently in the ring. Punk told Houston Reigns was not here tonight, prompting boos. CM Punk proceeded to tear into Roman Reigns.
- Punk said Reigns only headlined 10 WrestleManias because of his connections and because he sucked at football. He called Roman Reigns nothing but a "buck-tooth nepobaby who ate dogfood for a weird old man.
- Punk bragged about his F-U money that allowed him to quit WWE the first time. Punk called Reigns “safe” and “plastic," which is why WWE sent him to Jimmy Kimmel. Punk, on the otherhand, is too dangerous for that. Punk said he’d burn a bridge that he was still on because he can swim out of it.
- Punk then turned his attention to “Pat MAGAfee.” In response to McAfee’s comments on SmackDown about WrestleMania ticket sales, CM Punk said McAfee had a receipt coming, and if TKO wanted to sell more tickets they need to lower the prices. This made him a huge babyface to the fickle Houston crowd. Punk said he wanted families to afford to come see him destroy Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. This was an incredible promo from Punk.
Austin Theory Def. LA Knight
- Logan Paul was on commentary, and the recently cursed IShowSpeed was along for the ride. LA Knight dominated Theory early, pounding his head against a table. Paul shoved Speed into LA Knight, who stalked IShowSpeed up the ramp.
- The Usos interfered, but the distraction led to Austin Theory rolling up LA Knight.
Dominik Mysterio Destroys Finn Balor
- This was supposed to be Finn Balor vs JD McDonagh. Balor was jumped from behind, and both McDonagh and Mysterio beat down Balor. Mysterio received immense heat from the Texas crowd.
- Hopefully, Balor being outnumbered means he’ll have to call upon his old demon character to even the odds.
Lash Legend Vs. Bayley
- Lash Legend overpowered Bayley with a forearm to the face while Bayley was in midair. Legend controlled the match from that point, with fans rallying behind Bayley.
- Corey Graves talked up the difference in skillsets among the Unstoppable Forces as Bayley slowly began to make her comeback. The veteran Bayley did a good job as a ring general as she called most of the spots against the impressive rookie Lash Legend.
- Nia Jax tripped Bayley, and squashed Lyra Valkyria into the post. Alexa Bliss an Charlotte hit the ring and 2v1’d Bayley. Bayley climbed the turnbuckle, but Legend delivered another right hand.
- Lash had Lyra for a superplex, but Lash and Bayley awkwardly waited for Lyra, who finally appeared to trip Legend as Bayley scored the win.
Match Grade: C+
Gunther And Seth Rollins Face Off
- Seth Rollins went through his plan to outsmart Paul Heyman. He even implied that Oba Femi attacking Brock Lesnar and challenging Lesnar for WrestleMania was all part of the plan. Seth seemed to get lost during parts of this promo, but this hot crowd was behind him the whole way.
- As Rollins made his closing remarks, fans reacted to Gunther sneaking in the ring. Seth continued with his promo, and moments later Gunther trapped him in a sleeper hold. Seth fought out of it, and the two dueled to a stalemate with involvement from WWE officials.
- Backstage, Paul Heyman said he didn’t now how to thank Gunther, and Gunther said he will cash in on Heyman’s favor at another time. Another WrestleMania season, another favor owed by Paul Heyman.
Rey Mysterio Returns As Je’Von, Penta And Dragon Lee Def. Los Grandes Americanos
- This was a wild match that had to be seen to be believed. The babyfaces went flying to the outside, one-by-one, seemingly trying to outdo one another. Penta hit a sick Mexican Destroyer on the announce table. Dragon Lee hit an awkward hurricanrana on the apron on El Grande Americano.
- Je’Von Evans won the match with an OG Cutter. This was a highly effective WrestleMania commercial. Enter Rey Mysterio to a huge pop. Rey Mysterio said he couldn’t compete at WrestleMania last year due to injury. He teased that the same was the case this year. He spoke with Adam Pearce, and they agreed that there is one more spot in the WrestleMania Ladder Match. Mysterio announced himself for that spot to a huge ovation.
Match Grade: A-
Rhiyo Vs. B-Fab And Iyo Sky
- Before the match, there was a vignette from Asuka asmonishing Iyo Sky for getting involved in her and Kairi Sane’s business.
- Rhiyo started out white hot as both Rhea and Iyo showcased flashy offensive moves. Iyo hit a much safer dive to the outside on Michin and B-Fab before the commercial break.
- Back from break, B-Fab and Michin got a ton of heat as they teamed up on Iyo Sky. Jade joined in on the fun by pulling Rhea from the apron onto the floor. Meanwhile, in the ring, Iyo rolled up B-Fab. The celebration didn’t last long as Jade blasted Iyo from behind.
- Rhea briefly evened the odds, but Jade and her baddies overtook Ripley. Jade grabbed a kendo stick as Michin and B-Fab held her down. Cargill battered Iyo with a kendo stick while Rhea watched. Jade finished Iyo off with a Jaded. Great heat. Great segment.
Match Grade: C+
Brock Lesnar And Oba Femi Contract Signing
- Triple H made a surprise appearance to moderate the spiritual WrestleMania main event. Fans chanted for Oba over Paul Heyman’s introduction of Brock Lesnar.
- Oba and Brock brawled before Oba even got into the ring. WWE security got involved in a pull-apart brawl that poured into the ring and through a table. Fans chanted “holy s—t!” as furniture flew all over the ring and Raw went off the air.
