The MLB is through the first two weeks of the 2026 season. The season has seen hot starts from veterans and players entering the first few seasons of their careers. In the opening month of the season, it’s common for players to work their way into becoming locked in. However, as the months become warmer, players begin to perform at a higher level. Here are the top 10 relief pitcher rankings heading into week three.

1. Mason Miller, San Diego Padres

Miller is arguably the game’s best relief pitcher. He possesses one of the most electrifying fastballs in MLB. He’s tied for the league lead in saves.

2. Jordan Romano, Los Angeles Angels

Romano is having a great start to the season. He hasn’t surrendered a run and is perfect in his save chances. If the Angels can stay competitive, Romano can have a big season.

3. Jhoan Duran, Philadelphia Phillies

He’s elite and coming off a monster 2025 season. The key to last season’s success was staying healthy. Duran will be among the league’s leaders in saves.

4. Edwin Diaz, Los Angeles Dodgers

The first-year Dodger is perfect in his save chances. He will have plenty of opportunities closing out games for Los Angeles. He can have his first season saving 40 games since 2018.

5. Erik Sabrowski, Cleveland Guardians

Sabrowski is turning into a steady setup option for Cleveland. The Guardians have had a strong bullpen in recent seasons. Erik Sabrowski can be among the league leaders in holds by season’s end.

6. Aroldis Chapman, Boston Red Sox

The veteran continues to age like fine wine. He had one of the best seasons in recent years in 2025. He can once again have success in 2026.

7. Riley O’Brien, St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals are searching for someone to step up and take over the closer role. O’Brien’s early success has him as the early-season favorite. He will have many opportunities to register saves.

8. Tony Santillan, Cincinnati Reds

Santillan is becoming one of the league’s best setup men. He will play a pivotal role in Cincinnati’s bullpen. By season’s end, he can overtake the closer role.

9. Paul Sewald, Arizona Diamondbacks

Sewald is no stranger to saving ball games. Last season was interrupted by injury, but the closer is fully healthy to start this season. Arizona needs him to stay healthy as the team hunts for the playoffs.

10. Tyler Alexander, Texas Rangers

Alexander is the early favorite to close out games for Texas. He is perfect in his early save opportunities. The veteran isn’t flashy, but he’s getting the job done.
