On Friday, Mayweather and CSI Sports/FIGHT SPORTS announced via press release that “Money” signed an exclusive promotional agreement with the promoter for the next stage of his career, declaring that Mayweather intends to resume his professional boxing career after his planned Spring exhibition bout with Mike Tyson.

“I still have what it takes to set more records in the sport of boxing – from my upcoming Mike Tyson event to my next professional fight afterwards – no one will generate a bigger gate, have a larger global broadcast audience and generate more money with each event – then my events,” Mayweather said in the press release. “And I plan to keep doing it with my global media partner, CSI Sports™/FIGHT SPORTS®.”

Soon to be 49 years old, Mayweather is universally considered one of the best boxers of his generation. The man formerly known as “Pretty Boy” walked away from the squared circle in 2017, following his stoppage win over Conor McGregor in their “Money Fight,” which moved him to 50-0 as a professional.

But though he retired in 2017, Mayweather never left boxing, performing in eight exhibition bouts over the past nine years, most notably his bout with Logan Paul in 2021, and his pair of fights with John Gotti III in 2023 and 2024.

Mayweather is expected to meet Tyson in an exhibition bout tentatively set for April 25 in the Congo.
