Speaking to the media at the combine today, Georgia tight end Oscar Delp said that he met with the Browns in Indianapolis. He went on to talk about what it would mean to play for Monken again, who was the offensive coordinator in Athens during Delp's first year in college:
“I chose Georgia and part of the reason was because of Coach Monken… to be able to play for him again would be amazing.”

Despite Delp and Monken only overlapping for a season with the Bulldogs, it can be assumed that the new head coach in Cleveland was a main contributor to Delp's recruitment to Georgia. With long-time tight end David Njoku saying his goodbyes to Northeast Ohio as he gets set to enter free agency, the Browns have a need at the position to pair with Harold Fannin Jr.
While Delp's production never amounted to that of past Georgia tight ends, the sheer explosiveness and skillset shown on tape are exceptional. Could the Browns look to reunite Monken and Delp?
