Iowa women's basketball announced as NCAA Tournament host

While the news certainly was not a surprise to many Iowa women's basketball fans, the No. 9 Hawkeyes (26-6, 15-3 Big Ten) have earned the right to serve as one of 16 hosts for the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

While the actual seeds will be announced during Selection Sunday, the significance of this news is that the Hawkeyes will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

The Hawkeyes are projected as a No. 2 seed in ESPN's latest bracketology. Games will be held at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on either March 20 and 22 or March 21 and 23. Iowa announced that a limited number of tickets will go on sale on Monday at 9 a.m. CT.
