The Kings Walk shopping centre, developed by Moolman Group, will rise at the busy intersection of Solomon Mahlangu Drive and Bronkhorstspruit Road, a key route linking Eastern Tshwane with Mamelodi and surrounding towns.

The 32 000 square metre mall is designed to serve both growing residential communities and heavy daily commuter traffic.

Big-name retailers already confirmed for new mall

According to Moolman Group, several major retailers have already signed on, giving a clear picture of what shoppers can expect.

Anchors include:

  • Shoprite
  • Pick n Pay
  • Boxer
  • Dis-Chem
  • Clicks
  • Waltloo

These stores will be supported by a mix of national brands and local favourites and are expected to drive foot traffic and establish the centre as a convenient, everyday shopping destination rather than just a weekend stop.

The Pick n Pay, in particular, will be run by an experienced franchise operator, which the developer says should ensure strong performance and reliability.

Built for convenience

Shoppers can expect 1 200 parking bays and a layout focused on smooth traffic flow. The aim is to make shopping quick and efficient. The focus is less on luxury and more on practicality, a centre where people can get what they need without hassle.

The mall will also be positioned along a major transport corridor and is expected to benefit from constant movement between Pretoria East, Mamelodi, and nearby economic hubs.

That steady flow of people, combined with rapid residential development in the area, gives the mall a built-in customer base from day one.

A key part of that growth is the nearby Kings Walk Estate, a new lifestyle development that will work closely with the mall, effectively making it the area’s main commercial hub.

While still more than a year away, set to open in April 2027, Kings Walk is already shaping up to be an important addition to Pretoria East.
